My Animation Collection

So I found out something great: all I have to do to upload longer videos on YouTube is verify my account! Yay! That means I can share this video I made awhile ago, before I got serious about YouTube: A display of my animation collection! As I say in the video, I collect animated movies the way some people collect comic books, and I really wanted to share my hoard with all of you.

Unfortunately, when I watched this again, I realized that I forgot my Pokemon VHS tapes... whoops. Well, the video is already too long. Oh, and I made another error: I said that Chuck Jones created the Animaniacs. Those characters were inspired by him, but I don't believe he worked on them. My mistake.

And WARNING: While discussing these movies I mention some spoilers. Beware!

In this video I mention the short film Lady Ice by Israeli animator Liron Pe'er. You can see the film here:

Art Flip Through

So I made a video where I look over drawings I've done by copying photographs. Drawing from life is best, but when models are hard to come by, drawing from photos are a good second option. :)

Unfortunately the editing of this video is pretty choppy, as it was hard to get it under fifteen minutes--the limit for youtube. XP

My Digital Art Journal

So I made a video about my kind of art journaling. :3

I have always loved collaging things I find online that inspire me, make me happy, etc. When I heard about art journaling, I thought I might try it as a way of making my collages more interesting! But I prefer making my collages on the computer. Check out the video to find out why and see some samples!

Writing, Yay!

Who else likes to look at pictures of the written word? I do!

Here's a shot of my diary. I'll either handwrite it or type it up and print it out, depending on my mood. Of course typing it is fun because you get to play with fonts! :D

This past March was a big month for me, as I finished the first draft of a novel I'd been working on for several months! It really needs polishing, but I've put it aside for a couple of other novels I want to write!

Here's the outline for said new project. I didn't outline my last novel and really regretted it. I outlined this one and am so happy I did!

Who else out there loves writing? Fiction? Journals? Do you prefer handwriting or typing? Do you outline or are you a "pantser" as they say?

Recently drew some cat heads (that sounded weird...) in my notebook. Pictures!

Also a picture of them all laid out over my notebook... though the notebook doesn't really show. XD

My Notebook

A video intro to my beloved notebook. <3

Hello World!

Greetings to all! My name is Mary DeMauro and I am here to talk about all things to do with creativity. I carry around a folder filled with paper for drawing and writing, and I'm often seen with a book as well. I also love watching movies--preferably animated and horror films. But first and foremost I am a storyteller. Creating stories and characters is my passion. I am here to share my love of creativity with you!

So, other points of interest... I currently work as a social media manager. My hobbies, as I mentioned before, include drawing, writing, and reading. I belong to two cats, Sig and Carlson, and you'll probably see them popping up here and there. I have Asperger's Syndrome, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The former I consider an asset; the latter I have worked hard to cope with.

As I said before, storytelling is an important part of my life. That's why this blog is called The Spiderweb--spiders are universal symbols of creativity, hence why they are some of my favorite animals.

So, that's it for now! Hope you enjoy my ramblings!
